Great Price Canon SX20IS for

Canon PowerShot SX20IS 12.1MP Digital Camera with 20x Wide Angle Optical Image Stabilized Zoom and 2.5-inch Articulating LCD Review

This is the first digital camera I bought. I have had experience with a wide variety of cameras including SLR's. While this doesn't come close to the quality of an SLR, it does very well for the price.

Pros:
>Fast zoom, with ability to zoom slower
>Great settings, The landscape setting is great, sport setting works very well, a host of other settings to still try.
>Manual focus, it takes some time to learn though.
>stitch mode for panoramas makes it very easy to put together amazing panoramas.
>Video quality is great!
>Battery life is great!
>The articulating LCD screen is great!
>Start-up time is very fast

Cons:
>Lack of sharpness, photos do appear soft. Nothing photoshop can't fix up.
>720p video uses a lot of power, and a lot of memory card space.
>You can hear the zooming while zooming on video.

I've used this camera over the course of four days at an air show, it performed very well. Can't compete with the quality of some SLR shots I've seen, but this camera got a lot of good photos. The video is VERY nice, so nice that one of the performers featured my video on their website.
Night shots are great as long as the ISO is low to avoid noise. Macro shots took some time to get right, the auto-focus has trouble with a close subject, that's where the manual focus comes in handy.

Overall very happy with my purchase. It's great for a starter camera to get to know the controls, settings and have the ability to take some high quality video on a budget.

Truly Amazing - Stephen Feng -
I'm a not a professional photographer. I like to take pictures of portraits and of nature. I own a couple Canon 1Ds Mark 3. That being said, I wanted a small compact camera to take around with me. I first purchased a Sigma DP-1, but found it limiting and too slow. I sold it and decided to purchase this Canon ). And I am simply amazed at the functionality and speedy feel of the camera. Yes, it's not as small as a DP-1, but compared to a 1Ds Mark 3, it's tiny. Every feature of this camera is well thought out and they loaded it with much current technology as possible. I can't think of a single thing to complain about. I see people complaining about the buffer, but honestly if you NEED high buffer on RAW shooting then take the plunge and buy a 1D or 1Ds.

It's not a professional grade camera by functionality and build. But the image quality is on par. sRAW on a 1Ds Mark 3 is precisely the same as this camera MP size. I would feel very comfortable with the image quality of this camera to do a editorial shoot (non-sport) with it. But of course, the client always wants to see the big expensive camera, since they're paying you. :)

Nice Package.........Bad/Noisy Pics - R. Fraley - Mid Atlantic U.S.
Bought it, Loved the package. Everything was great except the picture quality. The Video quality was excellent. The Still Pictures were middle of the road at best. In all settings, under all circumstances the pic's were just middle of the road and in many cases very noisy, blurry etc. Tried sharpening them up with software, and the raw material you are working with just isn't up to par. Sorry.........returned it. Will try something else. Btw, I love Canon Camera's and have two others. This one just didn't cut it.

Good camera in small package - E L - Houston,TX USA
This is my 1st point and shoot. I've owned 5 DSLRs to date. The way I use sx20 now as a baby SLR and HD camcorder. If I stay away from full auto, I'm very much OK. Picture IQ will never reach the high level of DSLR. I carry the camera every where now w/out the big bag of lenses and accessories. I shoot HD footages and converted them to ACVHD dvd .The video is beautiful if played on blue ray player. My dedicated Canon flash works wonder on this camera.

Check Out Canon PowerShot SX100IS 8MP Digital Camera with 10x Optical Image Stabilized Zoom (Silver) for $318.13

Canon PowerShot SX100IS 8MP Digital Camera with 10x Optical Image Stabilized Zoom (Silver) Review

Please let me first explain that I'm not in like manner, a digital photo freak.
Four years ago I used to run around with a much smaller (and simple) Canon digital camera (PowerShot A560 - 7.1 mp) but when I read about Canon's SX100IS and checked out its features, immediately fell in love with it!

I've been using it continuously for almost two years, never had a failure or a "lens error" message. Since I started to use this camera, I loaded it with a 8 GB SDHC card and took all my pictures in the Auto mode with excellent results. I paid 0 for the camera, the SDHC card and carrying case (including taxes, because I live out of the U.S.) but I think I got a good price anyway!

The photo quality is REALLY GOOD for a camera with such lens size (and price level). The 10X optical zoom feature is A MUST for close-up shots!!!
Even open range and skyline photos (sunsets at the beach) were taken, with an awesome image definition!!!

However, it's true that battery life is quite short, so don't forget to carry an 8-pack of fresh AA batteries everytime (specially, if you're planning a long trip with plenty of photo shooting).

I really don't know if newer Canon models for this camera may have a better performance, even with larger megapixel capability. Really, I'm quite happy with this camera, and I would consider to change it only if I find a much better model in a really cheap price. Thank you Canon!

Affordable Electronics - Digital Camera Reviews

It 'been more than 30 years from seed to the first digital camera satellite Sputnik, the need for the camera to transfer images, as was required occurred. It 'was a memorable trip to this day, venturing in the field of 3D digital photography. Since the models are too large to hang, even on the neck of one, we now have models that are compact enough to fit in your pocket easily be. But with thisexponential growth, came the dilemma of choosing the best digital camera. This is when the level of knowledge of photography came into play.

Canon, Kodak, Sony, Olympus and Nikon are just some of the leading digital camera. All these brands only some important features that focus a good digital photo. Each new model addresses one or more of these features and improvements.

From beginner to professional photographers have always Megapixelhas a domain. But this is a common mistake in the dark. More than seven megapixels, is in no way affect the clarity of the image to other points. The only difference you can feel when you make large prints, which give different results for different resolutions will be.

The last entry in the digital Leica X1, December 18 was launched. The German model is a break in camp, because it marks a significant period of Compactlarge sensors. Equipped with a 12.2 MP APS-C CMOS sensor, which offers a high compared with 35 mm lens is recommended for printing the photographer in the great interest.

The world of digital photography is polarized to the photographers and experts. For a normal user, not technical terms of photography, is a unique lens reflex camera concealment. The more manual features, the greater the potential for flexibilityfor photographers. Therefore, the DSLR SLR camera manual and many functions, all functions of opening, ISO, exposure, and in better shape. Canon digital cameras are in the noble task to erase the line between professional and novice users.

The Canon PowerShot series is preferred enthusiasts of all categories of photos. The newcomer family Powershot, Powershot G11 is very promising, with its increasemanual mode, zoom, high-end and robust construction. Published at the same time, the Canon PowerShot A1100 IS offers cost-conscious needs of photographers and beginners. But do not let the expectations of users. He features face recognition and image recognition.

Affordability is not the first thing to be in the minds of true photo enthusiast. But if similar properties are given below, it is natural that the camera is more convenientselected. This is what they are used by Pentax-K7 is a digital SLR camera affordable to a large extent, a serious threat to Nikon and Canon DSLR scene. Compared to bulky and DSLRs Nikon D300 and Olympus E-3-k7 the Pentax digital SLR is a small, compact and lightest on the market.

Another interesting feature is, shows that if we see can be printed out and shoot HD HD also recorded. Yes! The sensor offers a live view and the ability to capture high-definition video.

Thelast digital camera with a lot of improvements, does not mean better features. It 'a market driven need to get the best camera for our needs can be selected. If the natural environment provides a sense of excitement, then a digital camera with 6x zoom least preferred. Therefore, a Canon Powershot is more desirable than a Canon PowerShot, although the latter is the most compact of the two, serves our purposes because Powershot better in this case. OK camera, but shutter lag is a killer - Jeff S. - Chicago, IL USA
This camera has all the settings and features I wanted. The flash pops-up with a simple flick of your finger. The screen is huge (no viewfinder, but it doesn't need one). But the lag between when you press the shutter and when it takes the picture is excruciating! It's a real bummer because you will constantly miss the shot you want to take by about 1 second...and that is a really long time when taking photos.
