Why Buy A Canon PowerShot A460 Digital Camera?

What is the best reason for buying a digital camera? They say there are only two major reasons why people buy anything. The first is to avoid pain, and the second is to gain pleasure. Assuming that your test can not buy a Canon PowerShot A460 digital camera, to avoid pain, you think about what could be gained to the joy of buying the A460. The joy of the collection of life memorable moments for posterity. The joy of creating art with the perfect shot of a sunsetthe Misty Mountains. The pleasure to admire its stunning photography to all your friends. Before we get too far though Zen, there are some things you should know before heading out to buy a Canon A460.

The A460 looks like a bit like a throw back to my original digital camera. A Canon PowerShot S40 (circa 2001). The small LCD 2-inch LCD screen, and the sliding lens cover / power switch are almost identical designs. Not that there is somethingwrong that I am still with my S40. It has some nice features that seem to be missing on many of today's digital cameras. Decent battery and a solid / solid feeling body. The only thing that has changed over the years, the image quality.

Given that the A460 is only up to a maximum of ISO 400, you would think that the pictures taken quite a noise would be free. In reality, the noise seems to be a step behind the competing products. ISO 100 images from the PowerShotA460 seem like they were recorded at 200 or 400 setting. Things have improved over the years, with picture noise reduction in most camera models, but unfortunately, the A460 is not quite kept pace.

Another piece of new technology is missing from the A460 has image stabilization. Image stabilization is fairly common fare on even the most basic of digital cameras in those days. It is nice to everyone, with trembling hands. Even for those who can with a rock solid grip, image stabilization make the differencebetween a perfect shot, and that's just a bit blurry, even for Photoshop.

If your mind still intent on buying a PowerShot A460, here are a few other issues:

- Flash recharge time is becoming unbearable

- The zoom buttons are shared with other functions

- Film is at 10 fps 30 fps at VGA or QVGA-shot

- A bit too big to fit in your pants
